BractStudio built Slate, a community app for sharing Android home screen setups. This page explains exactly what the app collects, where it is kept, and who else can see it. If something here does not match what the app does, treat that as a bug and tell us at slate@bractstudio.com.
You can browse Slate without an account. To post, comment, follow, save or report, you sign in with Google or with an email address and password. Either way we hold:
Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth. A password you set is stored only as a hash on their servers, never in the app and never in a form we can read. If you sign in with Google, your Google password never reaches us.
When you publish a setup, we store the screenshot, title, notes, tags, the launcher, icon pack, widget and wallpaper details you add, and any backup files you attach. Comments, likes, saves and follows are stored too. Anything attached to a published setup, and your public profile, can be seen by anyone using Slate. Drafts and your saved setups are private to you.
Accounts, comments and setup records live in a Supabase Postgres database, protected by row level security so one account cannot read another's private rows. Images and backup files are served from BunnyCDN, a content delivery network. All traffic between the app and these services is encrypted (HTTPS).
We count views, likes, saves and comments on setups so creators can see how their work is doing and so the feed can show popular setups. Slate contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK and no advertising SDK, and we do not use your advertising ID.
If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging issues a token for your device and we store it so we can tell you about likes, comments, follows and replies. Turning notifications off, or signing out, removes the token.
If you buy a Slate Pro subscription, payment is handled by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. RevenueCat receives a record of the purchase so the app knows whether Pro is active on your account. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Google Play account.
Only the services that make the app work:
They process data on our behalf to run the app. Slate shows no adverts. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We only disclose data if the law requires it.
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app. Your profile, setups, comments, likes, uploaded files and device tokens are removed. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Backups may hold copies for up to 30 days before they expire.
Can't open the app? Follow the steps on our account deletion page, or email us from the address on your account.
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Most of this you can do yourself in the app (edit profile, delete setups, delete account). For anything else, email slate@bractstudio.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Slate is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
We will update this page when the app changes, and the effective date at the top always reflects the current version. If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account from Settings at any time.
